| | | Independence Of Indonesia 2010 | Friday, August 20, 2010 | August, for some people is a common month, but for the Indonesian Nation this month is the most remembrance month to be remembered. 17th August is celebrated as Indonesia’s Independence Day. 17 August 1945 is the sacred day, but many activities and competitions are held since the first of August.
To celebrate the event SGS, our beloved school also held some competitions at 20th August 2010 for students. The competitions involved pre-school, kindergarten and primary students. Of course, the competition must be balanced with their level of difficulties. The aim of the competitions are not only to be a winner but also able to work as a team, passionate and adroit.
Giant handprints, flag competition, kicking balloon, red beans and putting on shoes competition were prepared for preschool students. Kindergarten and primary are able to do more difficult activities, as the result teachers also prepare some challenges competitions, those are: Making Indonesia’s flag, put pencil the bottle, finding mysterious things (flags) that hidden in different rooms of SGS, making Indonesia chains, eating peanut used chopsticks, hat and marbles competition.
School hours on that day resumed at 8 A.M. Because of the special event; pre-school, kindergarten and primary students wore unusual clothes instead of SGS uniform. Green, blue and red are dominated by pre-school students. On the other hand preschool Teachers wore Batik as their dress code. Kindergarten-Primary Teachers and students wore red or white T-shirt and jeans. The colourful dress codes made SGS became so gay.
Whatever is the activity to merry the independence day the most important is not to be the winner, but how school and Teachers create a good generation and build a new hero for the future. MERDEKAAAA.....!!!
